About Me

I go by Mel.

I live everyday, because He Lives. I would be nothing without Jesus Christ.

I have been blessed with an incredible family!

My favorite piano pieces are Theme from Love Story, Moonlight Sonata and Prelude in C. I miss being able to play the piano.

History fascinates me.

Having a cup of herbal tea is the perfect way to relax in the evening.

Writing snail mail is very special to me.

I ask a lot of questions.

I have a cat named Muffy. Totally unbiased, but he is the cutest thing! 🙂

    Dear Mel,
I am so touched by your story, and your courage. And I am incredibly thankful that you know the Lord, and that He walks with you. Truly “because He lives, you can face tomorrow… and life is worth the living just because HE lives.” Thank you for sharing- with love, Elizabeth

“Because He Lives” is one of my favorite hymns! I also find great encouragement in “Great is Thy Faithfulness”, because my body changes so much and it is out of my control–but God is in control and doesn’t change. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” 🙂

You are such a delight, Melinda! I was so blessed to meet you and talk to you this afternoon!!!!
Your beautiful, from-the-heart smile reveals a heart in which Jehovah God is the Lord and you made me praise Him!
looking forward to see you on Monday!!!!

Hi Zach. I am glad you found my blog and took the time to write! I am sending you an email, so you can ask questions and such there. Nice to “meet you”.

  4. Mel, I read “your story” for the first time yesterday in the Dayton Daily News. The thought that I couldn’t let go of was, “To know joy despite your circumstances and/or limitations is a gift from God.” So, when I checked out your blog and saw that you give glory and praise to God, it connected all the dots for me! Another verse to add is, Isaiah 49:16, “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” God does not remove His love or care from our lives!
