April Reads

I have decided for the month of April, I am going to engulf a portion of literary hours in Children and teenager titles. I had so many on both the “Unread” and “Reread” lists that it took me a while to eliminate to the bare minimum. None-the-less, I am pretty excited!!! 🙂

Unread choices:

  • Mr. Popper’s Penguins by Richard Atwater
  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  • The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden

Reread:

  • The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis

What about you? What are your favorite Children or teen books? Have any recommendations? 🙂

PS. March reread was Safely Home by Randy Alcorn. I truly recommend it–Hebrews 13:3

  1. I loved The Book of the Live Dolls. It was such a neat story. I got it at a book sale at school for .50 and now it is worth $90. I passed the book on to my daughter Deborah and she has read it to a lot of her nieces and her daughter. I also loved The Voyage of the Treader and all the others in that series. Read on dear friend 🙂

I LOVE the whole Narnia series! Just brilliant. The Horse and His Boy is my favorite, but I chose second place favorite this time. 🙂

I have found many great reads at book sales (especially the library sales.) Nothing like a 50 cent purchase. Crazy that the Book of Live Dolls is now worth that much; guess it is worth the read. 🙂

I looked up the Book of Live Dolls–not at the library or on BN.com (I thought maybe Nook form). Nope. Your book is like an antique 🙂

I just recently reread Cricket in Times Square! I love that book. Also just reread The Rats of NIMH. When I was a kid I loved The Great Brain series.

Can you believe I have never read it? Ah! I found it on the bookshelf downstairs next to The Mouse and the Motorcycle. haha. Classic.

I have never heard of the other two, so I looked them up; The Rats of NIMH reminds me of the Redwall series by Brian Jaques. Have you read these? Good mice vs evil rats. haha, I enjoyed those in junior high.

The Great Brain looks fun! We sisters enjoyed The Happy Hollisters series. 😀

  3. Harry Potter!!! If you haven’t read them, they are fabulous. 🙂 xoxoxo

I had that on my list of “unread” but decided to wait as it was long and so many. I need like to set a season for just the series. haha. Now that my Nook is linked so I can get ebooks from the library–no holding the huge books either. whee!

Wow, no titles are coming to mind … “computer loading: blank” LOL!! Except I do recall enjoying mutiple books but all their names escape me right now. Remember some of their plots though. Oh but the Adventures of Tom Saywer might be a fun reread!! That one just came to mind;D

Actually, I just had downloaded that to my Nook…so yes, a fun fun fun reread this summer! Remember those cartoons we used to watch of Tom, Huck and Becky Thatcher. haha. Those were hilarious!
